Focused on advocating for a church and society that are just, inclusive and transformational, MARCHA gives voice to members of the Hispanic/Latino community within the United Methodist Church (UMC) and the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico. Sustaining the organization’s role in the growth of the Latino church and the development of its leaders is vital to the denomination.
In partnership with the United Methodist Church Development Center, MARCHA is engaged in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to strengthen and increase support for the organization. Local congregations and individuals are asked to join the fund development effort by contributing yearly financial gifts and making a planned gift through financial or estate plans.
Your commitment to leadership development, advocacy, inclusiveness and justice can be directed toward two ministries.
1. The MARCHA Fund will ensure the work of MARCHA throughout the United Methodist Church and the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico and provide resources for conferences and local churches to embrace the diversity of our denomination and celebrate the heritage of Hispanic/Latino people everywhere.
2. The Hispanic/Latino Scholarship Endowment will provide a permanent source of funding for young Hispanic/Latino men and women to have an opportunity to attend a United Methodist higher education institution with a special emphasis on a peer network that will promote success in school and life.
